To facilitate pursuing our Mission Statement, NWPA has adopted goal statements designed to be used as a measure for every activity contemplated by the organization. By using our goal statements this way, we hope to avoid the pitfalls of expending time, money and energy on activities that do not meet the ultimate mission of the  Association. The goals adopted by NWPA can be summed up simply as education, advocacy and action. These statements are as follows:

  • We will educate the local public as to the relationship between agricultural irrigation and their drinking water supplies.
  • We will educate the general public and elected officials as to the importance of protecting the constitutional right to own and use private property.

  • We will assist our members in defending themselves against lawsuits brought by the United States.

  • We will keep our membership informed of the activities of Federal, State and Local Government entities.

  • We will keep elected officials informed of the impacts of laws, rules and regulations.

  • We will educate the general public and elected officials as to the personal property status and ownership of the water right owners of the Newlands Reclamation Project.

  • We will educate the general public and elected officials as to the relationship between natural resource industries and food and housing supplies.

  • We will support and promote multiple wise use of natural resources and pursue good farmerlike conservation practices.
